The Historical Society was established in 1976 as the Bicentennial Committee to save the Rhoads School. They later became the Elk Grove Historical Society and are an all-volunteer organization, located in Elk Grove, California. Heritage Park gives visitors the experience of looking into the past and the rich history of the city of Elk Grove.
The Park grounds consists of the 1950 Elk Grove House & Stage Stop Museum, the 1853 Foulks House Museum, the 1912 San Joaquin Township Justice Court and Jail Museum, the old-style Blacksmith Shop, the Dennis Buscher Plaza, bathroom facilities, and lawns. The park is open for FREE tours every first Saturday of each month from noon to 4:00 pm or upon request.

Enjoy 122 acres of recreation, culture, and majestic trees with a beauty that will take your breath away. This stunning regional park has been a center for great things in Elk Grove since the late 1800s!

Morse Community Park opened more than a dozen years ago at the heart of Elk Grove’s East Franklin area. This 30-acre park is among the biggest family-friendly attractions that have lots of places to have Elk Grove kids activities such as the sprayground, a shaded picnic spot that’s large enough for a festival, and a dog park.

Elk Grove’s full-service aquatic complex features a combination of pools designed to serve competitive aquatics, instruction, water fitness, and family recreation. It also features the area’s only 50-meter competition pool, a 25-yard instructional pool, a recreational pool with a lazy river and two 30-foot water slides, a concession stand, and a party room fun things to do.
The Aquatics Center is also home to the Elk Grove Gators and the Elk Grove Piranhas swim teams. The complex operates year-round and has heated pools, locker rooms, showers, and restrooms. Owned by the City of Elk Grove and operated by the Cosumnes CSD, the maintenance is done by certified operators that take pride in maintaining clean and safe water.
