Chris Shahin founded SJG School of Music in Campbell, during the Spring of 2004. After over 15 years of private and group instruction, he decided to design a music school that focused on excellence in musical education, but with a less formal culture than other music schools.
Shahin discovered that what his students loved most about taking lessons with him was that he taught them to play music and gave them opportunities to perform live in venues with real audiences. In these live performance settings, students achieved a level of musicianship that could not have been easily attained by taking private lessons alone.
