Radcliffe is a school. We do daycare, but we are a school. It is the philosophy of Radcliffe Academy that children around age 3 are able to absorb an enormous amount of information. We do not limit our activities with preconceived notions of what a 3-year old can learn. At Radcliffe they themselves determine how fast and how far they will go.
Preschool has become prep-school for kindergarten.
Children are expected to have some basic skills upon entrance to kindergarten. Following the State of California’s kindergarten curriculum, we make sure your child is introduced to all of the concepts they will encounter in kindergarten and some first grade concepts.
With failing budgets and ballooning class sizes, public schools are hard pressed to help when children fall behind. At Radcliffe, everyone learns at their own rate. There are no grades. Learning at Radcliffe is not a contest. It is guiding a child’s interests so that they WANT to learn. And then taking them as far as their abilities allow.
