Larry Balestra is a fourth-generation farmer who followed in the footsteps of his great grandfather who originally migrated from Italy and settled in Green Valley where he farmed cherries and peaches.

Larry and his wife Lisa both attended Cal Poly San Luis Obispo where Larry was a crop science major and Lisa studied Ag Business. Following their graduation and marriage in 1985, the two decided to open a roadside produce stand in the summer of 1986 at their current location on Suisun Valley Rd. near Fairfield, CA.

With only themselves and a single employee, they farmed about 40 acres to start. After years of hard work and by developing some innovative business techniques, they now farm over 1,200 acres including various fruits and vegetables sold at the stand as well as wheat, safflower, garbanzo beans and canario beans.
