The SET Story

The School for Entrepreneurship & Technology, also known as SET High School, is a WASC-accredited, tuition-free public charter high school in San Diego with an emphasis on technology and entrepreneurship. Our small class sizes, predominantly feature a 12 to 1 student to teacher ratio. SET High is the next best thing to a private school without the cost.

SET High instruction combines core curriculum with a hands-on, project-based teaching approach to encourage students to solve real world problems. High tech innovative classes and programs include system administration, programming, 3D graphics, cybersecurity, and robotics. Entrepreneurship is taught through marketing and leadership classes, passion talks from successful entrepreneurs and professionals, as well as passion projects where students envision and build a business model. In fact, a number of SET High students have launched successful companies while still in school or shortly after graduation.

SET High is a proud member of the California Interscholastic Federation (CIF), which promotes high school athletics throughout the state, and SET students compete in the Frontier League in basketball, volleyball, track & field, cross country, and golf. SET also has a variety of clubs including bowling, military meetup, mock trial, ASB, Gender Sexuality Alliance, yearbook, and Newsday Tuesday that enhance the student experience.

Foundational to SET High’s student success is faculty and staff that focus on building strong relationships with each student. They are extraordinarily committed to connecting with their students and creating a safe, productive learning environment for all. Here at SET we believe that every student has their own unique talents and we choose to focus on their gifts while providing individual support where they need help. Combining this with a campus culture of inclusion and compassion we view our role not only to educate students to achieve academic excellence, but to also help them find and develop into their best selves – scholastically and as engaged, global citizens.
