Let’s get outdoors and connect with nature via the birds! Spring Lake offers an incredibly bird-rich habitat, and we’ll be on the lookout for the high variety of birds who make the area their home for the fall and winter months… let’s explore who we might find. We’ll slowly meander along the mostly paved Spring Lake Loop Trail as it winds around the lake. We’ll look at, listen to, and identify a variety of songbirds, raptors, water-loving species, and anything else that pops up. As we walk and stop frequently to enjoy the birds we encounter, we’ll discuss a variety of topics, such as: techniques for locating birds, what sorts of details to notice when observing a bird, species identification, bird vocalizations, and bird behavior and habitats.
