The Folsom Karate Academy opened its doors in 2002. After studying business and economics in college, Master Adam Hamlin, at the young age of 23 years old decided he would continue with his life’s pursuit studying and teaching martial arts.

Mr. Hamlin has long held a vision of producing well rounded martial artists. Early in his life, he achieved separate black belts in tae Kwon do, kenpo Karate, Bok Fu, and was a Jiu Jitsu competitor at 15 years old, continuing to train in kickboxing and MMA with Master Dave Marinoble, he applied his mixed martial arts expertise to create a system based off of a lifetime of martial arts training.

Mr. Hamlin is also the founder of the Safety Proofing method of teaching child safety to children. He holds training camps and workshops for the community that has raised over $20,000 for local PTAs, Schools, and the Folsom Cordova Partnership. He is also in the process of publishing a series of children’s books focused on teaching safety proofing and life skills. The first books in the “Sensei Says” series will be published in the early part of 2016.
