Welcome to the home page of Royal Stage, a Christian visual &  performing  arts ministry serving the Sacramento/Placer regions and  beyond….Our experience as Christian artists is established and diverse, and we invite you to explore our website and contact us if you feel called to get involved in any of our programs.

We are children, teens, adults. Young, old, novice and skilled in the arts. We’re high school students, newlyweds, parents, widows and  every other demographic you can think of. We come together because of a  love of artistic expression – and a love of Christ’s love.

FALL 2019 CLASSES

All classes will perform in our holiday showcase on December 7 & 8, with the exception of teen/adult musical theater, which performs Nov 22-24.

PRESCHOOL CLASSES (AGES 2-5)

Pre-Ballet Our pre-ballet classes are a perfect introduction into the world of dance, with a maximum class size of 10 and an engaging combination of ballet terminology & make believe play. Dress Code Requirements: pink, black, or white leotard, tights, ballet shoes. Skirt/tutu optional. Hair pulled back out of face.

CHILDREN`S CLASSES & YOUTH CLASSES

Ballet I Geared toward the student with 0-2 years of ballet training, your child will learn basic ballet terminology, proper warm up techniques, barre exercises, center work, and progress through a piece of choreography scheduled to be performed at spring showcase on May 31-June 1. Dress code requirements: pink, black, or white leotard, tights, ballet shoes. Skirt optional. Hair pulled back out of face.

Ballet II Geared toward the student with 2+ years of ballet training, your child will learn more advanced terminology, barre exercises, center work, and progress through a piece of choreography scheduled to be performed at spring showcase on May 31-June 1. Dress code requirements: pink, black, or white leotard, tights, ballet shoes. Skirt optional. Hair pulled back out of face.

Hip Hop This fall, hip hop is for all ages, includes instruction in various urban dance styles, improvisation technique, and more. With enough interest, we will split the class into a 6-11 yr old section and a teen/adult section. Dress code requirements: Modest clothing, no jeans. Sneakers required.

Musical Theatre Kids aged 5-13 are welcome to grow their skills in theater & voice while participating as a performer in our 12 Daze of Christmas stage show the first weekend of December! All children registered for the musical theatre class will receive a role after initial auditions on Aug 26, as long as they do not have more than 3 day`s worth of scheduling conflicts and can attend the entirety of tech week (Dec 2-5)

Contemporary Contemporary dance embodies ballet, modern, jazz and lyrical. It uses technique such as ballet as its fundamentals and creates many more greater movements that do not adhere to the strict rules of ballet and modern. Come learn the basics through intermediate technique with this class for ages 6-11. Dress code requirement: Leotard under clothing, leggings or workout capris/sweats, modest tanks or tees. Hair out of face. Bare feet, jazz shoes, or foot paws.

Jazz Jazz dance combines techniques of classical ballet and modern dance with the current forms of popular dance. Jazz also has its own movement vocabulary ranging from the isolation of certain body parts to the movement of the entire body with the accents of musical rhythms. Dress code requirement: Leotard under clothing, leggings or workout capris/sweats, modest tanks or tees. Hair out of face. Jazz shoes

Youth Acting Come learn the fun of skits, scene study and original script creation in this class especially geared toward tweens and teens, ages 10-14! Ms. Dejonna`s high-energy class is a great way to catch the acting bug or continue to hone your skills for future auditions and productions. Dress code requirements: Comfortable, classroom appropriate clothes that students can move freely in.

Anime Art Ever wanted to learn how to draw anime characters yet don’t know where to start? If so, then this is the course for you! This is a drawing course only, coloring is not included. Students are free to bring their own coloring tools to class or continue on with detail at home. Students will learn basic anime structures, facial expressions and clothing. Yon’t need any drawing software/app or tablet, all you need is a paper and a pencil.

Tap This tap class for ages 6-11 is designed for the student with 0-3 years of tap experience. We will learn the basics as well as work on combinations and a routine to be performed in the spring. Dress code requirements: Tap shoes + comfortable, classroom appropriate clothes that students can move freely in.

Take the Stage ** homeschool day class ** Is your little one interested in stage performance? If your child is looking to develop self-confidence, focus, and creativity come join the fun. From singing and dancing to acting, students will explore various forms of performing arts. 5-9 yr olds only, please. Dress code requirements: comfortable, classroom appropriate clothes that students can move freely in.

Dance Around the World **homeschool day class ** Students will demonstrate movement skills, process sensory information, and describe movement using the vocabulary of dance. Students will explore dances from different regions around the world learning various cultural expressions and geography. Ages 7-12. Dress code requirements: comfortable, classroom appropriate clothes that students can move freely in.

Jumps, Turns, and Flexibility Improve your turn and leap technique, as well as increase your flexibility in this class geared toward children, teens and adults with at least 2 years of dance experience. Dress code requirement: Leotard under clothing, leggings or workout capris/sweats, modest tanks or tees. Hair out of face.

Performance Choir Learn to sing confidently with a group, with also the opportunity to audition for solo parts. This all-ages performance choir will showcase what they`ve learned at various events throughout the region. All performances will be announced two months prior, with all taking place evenings or weekends. Students are permitted to miss no more than 3 performances per calendar year.

Youth Touring Company Contemporary dance troupe for ages 10-15, which performs locally around Sacramento/Placer counties, as well as occasional trips out of town as decided as a team. Touring Co members must have at least 3 years of formal dance training and are not permitted to miss more than 3 rehearsals from January-May.

TEEN & ADULT CLASSES

Teen/Adult Musical Theatre Join us for our holiday production of A Christmas Carol. All registered class members with no scheduling conflicts during tech week (Nov 18-21) or performances (Nov 22-24) will receive a role following an audition on Aug 26. All students will work to grow their acting and vocal skills over the course of rehearsals.

Mind Over Matter Dance Are you a former dancer hoping to get back into it as a hobby? Did you always want to try dance but never had the chance to? This class, geared for women aged 25+, will focus on ballet, contemporary and worship dance styles as we learn to focus on freedom from self-judgment and develop confidence through the beauty of dance. Onsite childcare is available upon request. Please email/text/call if you have a need for this. Dress code requirement: Leotard under clothing, leggings or workout capris/sweats, modest tanks or tees. Hair out of face. Bare feet, jazz shoes, or foot paws.

Advanced Teen/Adult Contemporary This class is by invitation only. If you wish to be considered for this class, please email or call to schedule an audition time.
