St. John’s Preschool is designed to create an informal, happy and varied program for two to six year old children and meet their social, emotional, intellectual and physical needs. The child is encouraged to learn through play. We believe that play is a child’s work. Children learn not only from experiences provided for them by the teacher, but also from their experimentation with a variety of materials.
We provide many first-hand experiences. Children need to actually investigate the world around them. They learn through doing, touching, seeing, tasting, smelling and hearing. The curriculum is planned so that the children can be successful at all activities, while they are also challenged to further explore, helping them build their self-esteem.
