Why a Vision Screening?
Effective vision includes both good eyesight (20/20) and strong visual skills.
A screening can be requested by an optometrist during the standard eye exam or by patient symptoms such as:
- Squints, rubs eyes, or tilts head
- Headaches
- Homework takes hours
- Poor coordination, clumsy
- Poor handwriting
- Skips or repeats words
- Falls asleep when reading
- Motion sickness
- Struggling Learners & Dyslexia
- Attention challenges
- Brain Injury
- Lazy eye or Eye turn
- Athletic Skills Enhancement
Failure to pass any portion of the vision screening is an indication that vision skills deficit might be negatively impacting your child’s reading and learning.
