Juneteenth is the time in history when President Abraham Lincoln signed the Emancipation Proclamation in 1863, news traveled slowly, so the last slaves in Texas, did not get free until June 19, 1865, 2 1/2 years later, which freed all people born on American Soil. It was then called Juneteenth Freedom Day. Now a holiday in the U.S.A. and recognized across the world. It is our second freedom day.
