July is Disability Awareness Month! Celebrate on July 30 at Elk Grove’s inclusive bookstore, cafe, and community hub with community partners, vendors, and activities.
Thanks to the generosity of several Elk Grove businesses including 4kids.com, Explore Elk Grove, Venture Athletics, and more, we have 50 backpacks filled with gifts and goodies just for the disabled kids in our community!
These are first come, first serve, so make sure to come by and pick up a bag for each disabled child and youth in your family. (We’ll have small items for non-disabled siblings if you need them, as well.)
We’ll hold a themed storytime at 11am and have other activities throughout the event. Adults, you’ll also enjoy our 1 pm panel discussion on the experiences of disabled community members. Teens and preteens, bring your Nintendo Switch and make some new friends while playing your favorite games!
