Roseville Community School

The RCS teachers value differing learning styles and adapt the curriculum to the style and speed at which the students are capable of learning.

At Roseville Community School, education is an active process. Actual hands-on experiences are an integral part of the day. The academic program is designed to challenge each student at his or her own level. The teacher pays close attention to the social-emotional development of the students, as we believe it is vital to a child’s academic growth. The children will be involved in peer problem-solving, interpersonal communications, negotiation, and the recognition of different points of view as a part of their everyday program.

Developmental goals and the curriculum are inseparable. Together, they form a developmental approach to education that enables a more individualized format. We place a high value on the knowledge children bring to school. Their existing skills and interests are used as a starting point to explore broader learning goals. The curriculum follows the guidelines presented in the California State Frameworks.

St. Rose School

Our motto: St. Rose School exists to bring our Catholic faith to life.
Our mission: St. Rose School develops LEADERS…

St. Rose School opened in 1960, under the leadership of Monsignor James Corcoran, Pastor, and Sister Margaret Helena, Principal, serving students in grades one through four . The school was originally staffed completely by the Sisters of Mercy of Auburn. St. Rose School continued to grow, adding another grade level each year.

In 1985, the first lay principal was appointed. From that time to the present, the majority of the faculty and staff have been laypersons, all dedicated and faith-filled, and committed to the mission of St. Rose School. The school is now staffed completely by lay teachers however we continue to live the charism of the Sisters of Mercy who were so instrumental in our founding and growth.

American Montessori Academy

The mission of the academy is to create a deep, persistent and abiding desire for a lifetime of learning. Through the Montessori philosophy the academy will assist each child in reaching his/her full potential in a caring and respectful educational environment.

American Montessori Academy, of Roseville, CA., is a year-round licensed and certified school teaching in the tradition of Dr. Maria Montessori. Here, we nurture a child`s innate curiosity and thirst for knowledge in a supportive learning environment that prepares them for lifelong intellectual, social, and emotional success.

In following proper Montessori principles, we offer a non-competitive academic curriculum with measurable goals that encourages exploration, independent study, and self-confidence, set in a community that celebrates diversity and demonstrates a respect for others. Our classrooms are bright and cheery, and led by certified lead teachers, or “guides.” Children are grouped across a two-to-three year age span, and personally challenged at his or her own level by a curriculum that integrates core knowledge areas, while fostering the collaborative, problem-solving, and critical-thinking skills necessary to succeed throughout life.
