At Niki Farms, they practice organic farming. No hormones, antibiotics, or pesticides, ever. They are certified 100% organic by CCOF and certified as an egg handler with the State of California. They strive to ensure safe, nutritious food, which you can see when you come by to pick up your mandarins, eggs, raw honey, and jelly jams.

In the early spring, Niki Farms’ sweet, seedless, organic Tango Mandarins are offered. They hand-pick them when they are at their sweetest. The trees are fertilized year-round by manure gathered from hens. You can’t get much more organic than that. Eating the healthiest and most wholesome food is vital for everyone.

The family-run farm has been around for more than 30 years and is beloved by locals in Fresno for fruit picking. Their parents migrated to the US in the early 90s and were one of the few first Hmong migrant farmers in Fresno. They currently grow strawberries, seasonal vegetables, and other varieties of fruits.

 Sunshine’s Farm dedicates itself to giving back to the local community by providing the best quality produce for you and your family. Please stop by for a basket of fresh strawberries or pick your own during their u-pick days. You can also like sunflowers!

Two Sisters U-Pick Apricots

Founded by two sisters, this U-Pick apricot farm is located south of downtown Fresno. The Two Sisters U-Pick Apricots farm is a great place to pick these juicy fruits yourself, so get ready to kick back and savor the taste of this beloved summer fruit. Since this locale only grows apricots, it’s only open for a few weeks throughout the year.

Two Sisters U-Pick Apricots has over 175 mature trees with certified organic fruit to pick from. Parking will be on the street. They recommend changing shoes as you will get a little dirty and water since it tends to get hot. Plan a family trip during their upcoming harvest season for an apricot-picking extravaganza.

Mountain Brook Ranch

Mountain Brook Ranch offers cherry orchards, boysenberries, blueberries, and apricots to u-pick. They also have a roadside fruit stand on their ranch where the public can buy fresh cherries and other delicious fruit throughout the season. There will also be pomegranate juice sales, pomegranate sauce, and dried chili peppers.

They supply plastic bags (no buckets allowed) unless you bring your bucket to help hold the plastic bags. No personal items of any kind are permitted, such as ice chests, strollers, bags, backpacks, food or picnics, etc. Always call first to see if the U-pick orchard is open, usually the weekend after they open the fruit stand.

Fruit picking at local U-pick farms is an all-time favorite activity for kids in Fresno County, and you can choose your basket at Sumner Peck Ranch. The San Joaquin River Parkway Trust owns the ranch and is located along the San Joaquin River. U-pick hours are on Saturdays and Sundays from 9 am to 5 pm during the scheduled seasons. Maps of the property will be available in the white office building upon arrival.

Stroll up and down the orchard and enjoy picking navel oranges, blood oranges, pomelos, Minneola tangelos, mandarins, blueberries, and lemons. After picking fresh fruits, walk to Solitary Cellars Wine Company for a glass of locally produced wine, or take a short drive to the nearby River Center for a walk along the Hidden Homes Nature Trail. Naylor Organics U-pick is owned and operated by Mike and Nori Naylor. Mike is a third generation farmer who purchased the land from his parents in 1979. Both of Nori’s grandparents farmed, so she also has farming in her blood. The Naylors converted to organic practices in 1984 and became certified organic in 1990. The 40-acre homestead is planted with several varieties of stone fruit (apricots, nectarines, peaches, and plums). There is also a tiny blackberry patch.  

Visitors from Fresno and neighboring areas are welcome to tour the farm and go fruit picking with kids from the 3-acre parcel designated for U-pick. They provide buckets for fruit picking and bags to take home your delicious produce. Of course, you may bring your bags or boxes to be eco-friendly. All U-pick fruit is grown organically with the most significant attention to the best flavor possible. Always call ahead to check for availability.

Rancho Notso Grande

Located about 30 minutes south of Fresno, Rancho Notso Grande harvests various fruits and vegetables. Whether you want to go berry picking—there’s everything from blueberries and blackberries to olallieberries and tayberries—pluck stone fruits like apricots and peaches from the orchards, or choose your fresh veggies, you can do it all here. The farm offers U-pick and we-pick options and sells many of its goods online, including produce, meat, eggs, nuts, and preserves.

During the season, the farm is visited by hundreds of people a day from all over the world who want to experience where their food comes from and enjoy highly nutritious foods that taste ‘Yummy.’ Their bushes are never sprayed with pesticides, so you can eat the berries while you pick and purchase some to take home. During the harvest season, they also have a refrigerated, pre-picked fruit stand open from 7 am to 7 pm seven days a week.

Genesis Organic Farm

Genesis Organic Farm was founded by Jeannie and Ted Williams in 2007. It all started with 2 acres of dapple fire pluots and a small U-Pick orchard. A certified organic farm where visitors can pick plums and pluots in season. And, of course, they also have cherries, blackberries, peaches, apricots, apriums, apples, and Fuyu persimmons in their respective seasons. Their commercial pluot orchard is marketed through Home Grown Organic Farm and shipped throughout the country.

Their Pick-Your-Own field is set aside, especially for the locals and anyone passing by. Pick-Your-Own sessions are by appointment only through a phone call. There are no crowds here, just your family having fun picking fruit. Each session will be allotted one hour, so please be on time. They have restrooms, petting zoo, and farm animals. Genesis Organic Farm has a variety of experiences designed to cater to the needs of our community in a fun and sustainable way.

Riverdance Farm is situated in the picturesque lower section of the Merced River, which flows from the iconic Yosemite National Park. Using sustainable permaculture practices, the organic farm prides itself on only utilizing the existing ecosystem and its sustainable resources. The owners plant wildlife corridors and hedgerows alongside native Central Valley plants to restore the habitat for native bees, songbirds, and wildlife.

Considered one the best places for fruit picking in Fresno, the farm’s primary crops include blueberries, strawberries, elderberries, walnuts, cherries, almonds, oat hay, persimmons, pomegranates, pecans, citrus, and lavender. The farm also hosts a yearly Pick and Gather Festival. This weekend-long festival features fruit picking, educational activities, hay-bale rides, swimming, nature walks, fishing lessons, crafts, and wildlife viewing.
