Pacific Star Gardens is a certified organic local farm ideal for fruit picking in Sacramento with kids and offers U-pick strawberries and blackberries. They also sell tomatoes, watermelons, and a variety of vegetables such as corn, cucumber, green beans, zucchini, squash, and eggplant. They sell at the Woodland Farmer’s Market, the Davis Picnic in the Park Market, Placerville Farmer’s Market, and the South Lake Tahoe Farmer’s Market.

Also offered are age-appropriate tours during the spring, which include a tour around the farm (and the birds) plus a basket of either u-pick strawberries or blackberries. Steamboat Acres has a certified organic cherry orchard, a Chardonnay wine grape vineyard, a pear orchard, and a variety of fall fresh produce such as pumpkins, squash, gourds, heirloom melons, and heirloom flint corn. This local farm produces its own raw honey. You must call in advance to schedule a farm tour and fruit picking with the kids. Please note that this is not a U-pick farm. However, it is well worth visiting.

At Steamboat Landing, they have a beach, picnic, and river. If you want to come for the day, they charge $5 for adults and $2 for children under 12. They are opening a brand new deli, bakery, and eatery. Steamboat Landing is open from about 7 am until 9 pm. Life jackets are strongly recommended. For more information, please visit their website.
