Imaginarium’s “Light Up the Night” is a family-friendly outdoor event full of Christmas Lights at Cal Expo in Sacramento. This year’s event is a new concept and is a more immersive experience featuring an incredible array of lighting displays, many of them interactive, responding to music and attendees. Guests will love walking through illuminated tunnels and the Field of Dreams aglow with over 30,000 roses arriving at Winter Wonderland.
In total, there are over three million LED lights, creating a unique and exhilarating event specifically designed for this year’s extended holiday season. There’s the Rhapsody in Blue zone, where lights are synchronized with music, creating a festive and fun atmosphere for adults and children alike. If it’s holiday memories you’re after, find it at the Old Sacramento Waterfront! Theatre of Lights is an electrifying and family-friendly, and free holiday tradition. Discover the sounds of the fires, floods, and revelry that befell the historic district in the 1850s as 150-year-old building facades light up with color on K Street between Front and 2nd Streets.
Conceived and created by Stage Nine Exhibitions’ Troy Carlson, Theatre of Lights brings together some of California’s finest talents in the field of light and sound. The highlight of the 20-minute production is a live dramatization on the balconies above K Street, complete with a special appearance by Jack Frost and the lighting of the 60-foot Christmas tree by St. Nick himself. Enjoy one of the best places to see Christmas lights in Sacramento with festive music and the beautiful lighting of the Tree of Grace on Fulton Avenue. The parade will begin promptly at 5:00 PM, travel South on Bell Street, East on Cottage Way, North on Fulton Avenue, and end at the Department of Human Assistance parking lot at 2700 Fulton Avenue. The Parade route is approximately 1.4 miles.

Celebrate the holiday season at Fairytale Town with holiday lights, festive décor and vendors, snow, Santa, arts & crafts, and more at Fairytale Town’s Winter Wonderland! Visit Santa in his workshop from 3 PM to 6 PM. Victorian carolers will stroll through the park on weekends from 4 PM to 6:30 PM or can be found singing around the fire. The Balance Dance Project will take the stage at 6:45 PM with a holiday-themed performance, and we launch the snowfall right after at 7 PM.
